Free PHP IDE w/ Debugger

There is a new free PHP IDE available from a company called Maguma. It is for windows 98, Me, 2000, and XP. If you download the complete version it installs PHP 4.3 on your machine and it adds debugging functionality to the IDE. Sounds pretty nifty. I downloaded it the other day on my home computer but haven’t really tried it out yet. If anyone is looking for a free PHP development program with advanced functionality you might want to try it and let us know what you think.

I got this thing installed and working. It took me about an hour and a half to get it all set up because I’m kind of a PHP newbie. I found that I also neede to get DBG installed and configured in order for the debugging feature to work, and the debugger is what primarily interested me about the IDE. It is soooo much easier than trying to echo stuff to the browser for debugging! Definitely try it.

just downloaded 1.2 and have it working without too much trouble it seems. considering that i’m accustomed to doing all my php and html editing in vi this is quite a change. :-). so far so good but one cosmetic thing that’s gettin’ under my skin is the light-gray (margin?) line running down the inside right side of the editor window. what the heck is that for? can i turn it off? it appears to indicate where the lines will wrap if i print the page but even if i change the margins and format to landscape that stupid line stays in exactly the same place. it seems purely cosmetic but it bugs me… i’m a purist… please help. thanks.
