Looking at he API, some things to come to mind:
“Member Spotlight” – a random pick of one of the members, or past attendees
“RSVP Counts” – Show a sample or Total of RSVP’s for the next event
“Next Event” – Show the next scheduled event.
“Suggest a Topic” – Provide some integration with the suggestions
